Great Miami River Races, Casual Paddle Float & Demo Boat Extravaganza

The day starts off featuring competitive one-person and two-person canoe and kayak races along the scenic 5.5 mile stretch of the Great Miami River from West Carrollton to downtown Miamisburg. If you don't want to race, bring your own canoe or kayak for a casual paddle trip. Watch a fun celebrity race plus have an opportunity to try out different boats after the races. Booths will be set up so you can learn more about the increasingly popular sport of paddling, river safety, and recreational opportunities in the area. CANOE & KAYAK RACES

First race starts at 9:00 am
Pre-registration recommended!
Register on race day from 7:00 am to 8:00 am.

CASUAL PADDLE FLOAT

Don't want to race? A Casual Float from West Carrollton to downtown Miamisburg starts about 10:00 am. A limited number of rental canoes are available for $40, includes paddles, life vests and shuttle service. Pre-payment is recommended or else its first come, first serve.

If you have your own canoe or kayak, drop it off by 9:00 am at the start line in West Carrollton off Alex Road, then drive to Miamisburg and park, check-in at the registration booth. Passenger shuttle service available for $5 per person to the put-in site. (Sorry, no boat shuttle).

CANOE & KAYAK DEMONSTRATIONS

Demos from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. It's your opportunity to try out a variety of different canoes and kayaks. We'll have a selection of We-No-Nah Canoes and Current Designs Kayaks available to try out on a limited section of the river. A representative will be on-hand to answer your questions. This event is FREE and open to the public. Participants must be at least 14 years of age and sign a release waiver.
